Gazprom Public Company identified resource saving and production process energy efficiency increase at all its stages as priorities for its environmental policy and corporate environmental strategy. The problem of developing the technologies that increase the efficiency of main gas transport is included into the List of the Company's priority scientific and technical issues for 2011-2020. Traditionally, the important place in ensuring the performance efficiency of Gazprom Public Company are taken by production capacities reconstruction, innovative technologies implementation, corporate environmental management improvement, emergency situations prevention and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. Preventive measures allow improving equipment reliability and reducing the possibility of accidents at the production facilities. These include pipelines technical diagnostics, implementation of scheduled preventive maintenance complex, regular helicopter surveys of the main gas pipelines linear part for gas leaks using laser ranging devices. In Gazprom Group of Companies research and development works are conducted annually, resulting in new facilities startup and new equipment and technologies implementation. Technical innovation implementation and urgent production problems solution is based on studies conducted by leading Russian scientific organizations.
