Testing the samples of plastically pressed ropes for tension

Abstract

Today in Russia there are about 5,000 wells with lateral trunks of small diameter, are held annually to 1,000 operations sidetracking. The sidetracking reduces investment in the development of the field and to engage in the exploitation of previously inaccessible horizons. While wells with lateral trunks have a number of disadvantages: small diametral dimensions (114 - 89 mm) casing side of the trunk, large deviations from the vertical and large angles of curvature of the borehole, which reach 6 or more degrees on 10 meters length, what complicates the use in the lateral wellbore standard downhole equipment. Large curvature and small diameters sidetracks are complicating factors in the operation of wells with side holes, in particular, is abrasion of a rod string and the tubing that leads to the sucker rod breakage and loss of tightness of the tubing string. In Russian state University of oil and gas named after I. M. Gubkin was developed borehole pump installation with the cable rod. The use of the rope reduces the likelihood of breakage of the rods and protery barbells tubing by increasing the contact area and reduce contact stress. The use of ropes as column bars is limited, in particular, the increased elongation of the column of rods, which depends on the modulus of elasticity of the rope. In practice, often use simplified equations to determine the modulus of elasticity, however, these formulas do not take into account the variety of factors affecting modulus of elasticity, therefore, the most reliable is its experimental determination. The article provides information about experimentally determined modulus of elasticity of plastically compressed ropes, and justifies the scope of such ropes as the sucker rods.
