Tardive Neurotoxicity of Antineoplastic Therapy in Children: Part 2
Kulyova S. A., Belogurova M. B., Kolygin B. A.
Abstract
Now there are more evidences that many children treated for tumors experience long-term neurocognitive deficits. Degrees of dysfunctions are determined by complex factors depending on the child's age, neuroanatomical damage caused by tumor and surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and other. Cognitive outcomes therefore affect not only intellectual and educational, but also social and psychological functioning. The article presents an overview of late neurocognitive dysfunctions.
